Young adult carers are young people aged 16-24 who provide unpaid care to someone, usually a member of their family, on a regular basis. Young adult carers may have specific needs as they transition from school to further education, employment and training.
This research is an important step towards better understanding the needs of young adult carers in Wales and the support currently available to them. The resulting report will provide recommendations for improving policy and practice in this area.
Who Should Respond? They are seeking responses from organisations directly involved with supporting young adult carers in Wales, including (but not limited to):
A carers service
A college
A training provider
A HE institution
An employer
A support service
A local authority
A charitable/voluntary organisation
The questions are routed depending on what kind of organisation you belong to.

Why take part? This is a great opportunity to contribute to policy and practice concerning young adult carers in Wales. In doing so, you are ensuring the right support is in place to help young adult carers’ overcome barriers to progression into employment and further education.
