Do you have an interest in your local NHS? Do you want to improve
local health services in your area? Do you have 3-5 days free per month
to become a volunteer?
If you answered YES to the above questions, then please consider becoming
a volunteer of the Community Health Councils (CHC) in Wales.
CHCs represent the independent voice of patients and the public who use the
health service in Wales.
They play an important role in influencing the way
services are planned and delivered, to ensure the best possible health and
wellbeing outcomes for all people in Wales.
CHC members are local volunteers who act as the eyes and ears of patients
and the public, listening to their concerns and working with the health service
to improve the quality of patient care.
They are looking for enthusiastic volunteers from communities across Wales to
join us for this important service. They welcome: all ages, ethnic backgrounds,
genders, people with disabilities and all religious affiliations. The most
important requirement is a genuine interest in improving health services for
your community. Some key skills which would be useful include: an interest in
local health issues, being able to work in a team and with a diverse range of
people plus good communication skills.
Successful candidates will be given full training and support to enable them to
carry out their role and any ‘out of pocket’ expenses such as travel will be
reimbursed.
Closing date for applications is June 13th 2016 and interviews will take place
on w/c July 4th
2016.
