The future share of thoracic services in South Wales Drop In Sessions

Welsh Health Specialised Services Committee (WHSSC) is looking at the future shape of thoracic surgery services in South Wales. This includes deciding whether both Morriston Hospital in Swansea and University Hospital of Wales in Cardiff should continue to provide two separate thoracic surgical services, or whether one of those hospitals should provide a larger, combined service for the whole of South Wales.

Representatives from Powys Teaching Health Board are holding drop-in sessions during November: Crickhowell - Friday 10th November 10am - 12.30pm Crickhowell Resource & Information Centre
Brecon -Thursday 16th November 10am - 12.30pm Brecon Library Closing on 29 November 2017.

They are undertaking a period of engagement with stakeholders between 18 October 2017 and 29 November 2017.

You are welcome to share your views direct with WHSSC using the details on their website. We would also encourage Powys stakeholders to share your views with  at powys.engagement@wales.nhs.uk so that these can inform Powys own response on behalf of patients, communities and wider stakeholders.

WHSSC is engaging directly with third sector organisations working with people with chest and lung conditions (e.g. British Lung Foundation).
