Accessible Homes for the Future

Tai Pawb Check out the programme here

In Wales and across the UK, a substantial shortage of accessible homes leads to many disabled people experiencing unacceptable living conditions, without choice or control over their lives. Suitable and accessible housing is essential to ensuring that disabled people are able to fulfil their basic human right to live independently.

This influential seminar will explore the challenges and solutions aimed at alleviating the shortage of accessible housing in Wales. It will highlight the latest developments in accessible housing policy and practice.

Featuring the Wales launch of EHRC Inquiry into the Housing for Disabled People Report, it promises to deliver plenty of challenge, debate as well as good practice solutions.

Attendees will hear from public, private and third sector leaders and experts exploring accessible housing allocation, adaptations, housing standards, development and tenant involvement, including:
Ruth Coombs - Head of Wales, EHRC
Representatives from Welsh Government
Caroline Lewis - Director, Access Design Solutions
Rhian Stangroom-Teel - Policy and Public Affairs Manager, Leonard Cheshire Disability
Miranda Evans - Policy and Programmes Manager, Disability Wales
Robin Alldred - Adaptations Manager, Wales and West Housing
Sadie Cooper - Senior Occupational Therapist, Caerphilly Council
Maggie Kirby - Tenant, Ateb Group

Join them to learn, share and contribute to developing a vision for accessible housing in Wales.
