A policy framework for unscheduled care:

Anfonwyd ar ran Llwyodraeth Cymru/ Sent on behalf of Welsh Government

The development of a policy framework for unscheduled care: when something unexpected happens (working title).

This work, which is sponsored by the Cabinet Secretary, will seek to co-produce medium term ambitions for unscheduled care services to be delivered consistently across Wales by HBs and Trusts and partners, in line with the ‘quality statements’ action in the “Healthier Wales” plan.

The intention is to use the framework to describe the key attributes of a high performing unscheduled care system for NHS Wales’ organisations and partners to aspire, to the benefit of staff as well as patient experience and outcomes when citizens have an “unexpected need for advice, care or treatment”.

They have a two phase engagement plan in place, the first phase will focus on listening to key stakeholders including citizens, staff and professional bodies; and the second phase will involve informal consultation on a draft framework.

To this end, they need your help! It would be really helpful to them if you were willing to support the engagement process by sharing the following guide and feedback templates and / or the survey monkey links.
