Public Engagement Accredited Programme
This Public Engagement Accredited Programme has been developed as part of a national approach to embed effective public engagement by providing officers with a level of skills to develop, implement, grow and mainstream public engagement within their respective public service organisations. This programme builds on the experiences and feedback of the public engagement accredited programme that was jointly funded by the Welsh Government (LSB/ESF), 1000 Lives Improvement Service and WLGA. This cross public sector programme aims to continue and sustain the benefits of this training and further enhance the experiences of the officers through cross sector working.
Due to budget restraints the programme and been streamlined. Free places are only available to LHBs and NHS organisations including third sector health and social care organisations, local authorities, National Park authorities and Fire & Rescue Services. Other LSB partners are very welcome, but they will have to secure alternative funding for their places.

Enquiry into Psychoactive Substances - Survey
Celyn Menai Cooper is currently supporting the Health and Social Care Committee of the National Assembly for Wales in their inquiry into new psychoactive substances (legal highs).
The Committee are eager to hear the views of individuals and organisations within the policing and health sectors, as well as members of the public, on the subject. They are specifically concerned with how to raise awareness of the harms associated with the use of legal highs among the public and those working in these public services; the capacity of local services across Wales to raise awareness of – and deal with the impact of – the harms associated with the use of legal highs and the possible legislative approaches to tackle the issues of legal highs at both Welsh Government and UK Government level.
