Carers and Young Carers Support and Information - UPDATE!

Powys Carers Service (now Credu – Connecting Carers with a website to be launched in the near future), has been awarded with a contract to support Carers and Young Carers in Powys from 1st August 2016.

They are delighted to be able to build on their work with Carers and very much want to work with your organisations and groups throughout Powys, because Carers will get a much better deal all pulling together.

Opportunities for voluntary groups and organisations to support Carers / collaboration.

Many of you already support Carers / Young Carers or at least have a great deal to offer Carers; they have a small budget set aside to work with Carers as well as specialist organisations / local groups. This budget is going to be split to different areas of Powys to enable Carers to have as much decision making Power as possible – so each area will be in touch over the next year. You are also very welcome to get in touch with what you want to offer Carers.

What support we offer to Carers?

They have a leaflet to get a sense of what support they offer to Carers. There is Carers ‘drop in’ support at Marlow on South Crescent, Landrindod Wells and at the Siop ac Hwb in Machynlleth on the main street opposite the job centre.

How to refer?

You can refer by calling 01597 823800 during office hours, and soon through their website portal (they will let you know when it is ready), or through SECURE e-mail to carers@powyscarers.org.uk.
