Carers and the Social Services and Well-being Act 2014 training

EXPERT CLASSES

Building on the Care Council Getting in on the Act Learning Resources on Working with Carers this one-day expert class is for local authority, health and third sector professionals on positively implementing the new Act for unpaid carers. The expert class is relevant to a wide range of professionals whose role involves unpaid carers. It includes:

- providing information, advice and assistance,
- case work and assessments,
- planning and commissioning services,
- population assessments and consultation with communities

The day will offer the chance to reflect on what has already been delivered for unpaid carers, identify barriers and successes, and plan on how best to tackle the coming challenges. The expert class will also offer practical examples and new ideas to support professionals across Wales to deliver for carers under the Act.

The day will be led by Carers Trust Wales, Hafal and Carers Wales, building on the Carers and the Act training materials on the “Getting in on the Act” website.
