Fundraising support for carers groups.

Localgiving has a free opportunity for carers groups in Wales. They are giving carers groups a free year of help with online fundraising, starting from creating an online donation page and then offering training in running online appeals and encouraging fundraisers. They are offering each group £200 of match funding to help them get started, meaning that the first £200 you raise through your Localgiving donation page will be doubled. There are 23 places left on this scheme with at least one of these places needing to be allocated to a carers group.

Localgiving's Wales Development Programme:

Localgiving helps small charities and community groups explore online fundraising. Are you interested in building sustainable income streams, developing your supporter base and raising unrestricted funding for core costs? Online fundraising is very easy and very cost effective. Localgiving is offering a year of free support to 100 groups in Wales. This help includes creating a donation page, running online appeals and encouraging individuals to fundraise for you. Localgiving is already helping over 250 groups across every county in Wales to raise awareness and funding for their causes, as well as unlocking lots of match funding.

UK wide, over the last 9 years, Localgiving has helped charitable organisations to raise over £21 million online and in August 2018, thanks to generous funding and support from Big Lottery Wales and Garfield Weston Foundation, Localgiving launched the third year of its Wales Development Programme. Through the programme, Localgiving will work with a further 100 local community groups across Wales. It is an entirely free opportunity and includes

  • A year’s free Localgiving membership (usually £96) for local voluntary & community groups. This also gives all groups access to gift aid - an extra 25% - on all of their donations, whether they are registered charities or not.
  •  A match fund campaign (a £200 grant for every group that signs upto make that first 'ask' much easier for groups.
  • Opportunities for match funding throughout the year - see localgiving.org/what-we-do/campaigns for more info on the different match funding campaigns.

  • A package of training on online fundraising and 1:1 support from a dedicated, locally-based Localgiving team member.

If you would like to sign up to Localgiving just follow these simple steps and enter the promo code WALES100 at the payment sectionjoin.localgiving.org/wales

Alternatively you can watch a film clip that summaries what this opportunity looks like: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H-9ccQbaVSc&feature=youtu.be

This is a completely risk-free opportunity to look at a new income stream whilst being completely supported. To be eligible your group just needs to benefit Wales, be not-for-profit and have its own bank account for donations to be transferred into.
