You Can Help with Fall Prevention in Powys

Could your organisation help with the work of falls prevention in Powys by including this link on your own website:

http://www.powysthb.wales.nhs.uk/falls-services

This link takes you to the PtHB website with useful information to raise awareness of falls prevention and to give some helpful tips to support people at risk of falls. If you are able to add this link to your website or blog we would love to hear about this to track this campaign.

Thank you from the Health & Social Care Team on behalf of the Powys Falls Prevention Forum.

Consultation with service users and stakeholders regarding LD day services south Powys

From Powys County Council:
Powys County Council is starting a consultation about the future of the Day Services for people with a learning disability in the south of Powys. The project includes the in-house day services in Brecknockshire and also one external contract currently held by Cymryd Rhan in Llandrindod Wells. This project does not include the social enterprise in Brecon known as Beacons Creative.

Because of cuts in funding to Powys from the Welsh Government, Adult Social Care need to save nearly a 3rd of the budget over the next few years. This means taking a new look at how we deliver services rather than simply carrying on doing what we did in the past, so that we meet people’s needs in the most appropriate and cost effective way.

We are having a series of ‘drop in’ days for you to come and talk to us about the ideas and options we have for the services’ future. There are also some questionnaires which have detailed information in them about the different options.

You can come and talk to us at the drop in on one of the dates below or just send back the questionnaire in a pre-paid envelope. They have to be returned to the Council by the 29th March 2016.

11th March - 10am – 4pm Ystradgynlais  Ground Floor Conference Room - Hendre Ladus, Ystradgynlais, Powys, SA9 1SE

18th March 10am – 1pm Llandrindod - Spa Room - The Gwalia, Ithon Road, Llandrindod Wells, Powys, LD1 6AA

29th March 10am – 5pm Brecon - Conference Room, Neuadd Brycheiniog, Cambrian Way
Brecon, Powys, LD3 7HR

If you are not able to come to one of the meetings or fill in the questionnaire you could phone us instead. If you would like to do this please call Sandra Gibbons on 07899818417 or Debbie Webster on 01597 826446.
