Ipsos MORI Poll - Social & Child Care Sectors

New Deadline - Wednesday 16th January

Welsh Government has commissioned Ipsos MORI to undertake research to understand more about the staff who are working in the social care and childcare sectors. Its purpose is to consider the current contribution of non-UK EU staff, the level of qualifications across the sector, the recruitment challenges as well as the many other issues that are affecting the sectors in Wales.

This survey has been endorsed by Social Care Wales, Care Forum Wales, RCN and UKHCA  and has received support from ADSSCymru and the WLGA.

To ensure Ipsos MORI have access to reliable data we need as many providers as possible to take part in the survey.

All providers in this sector should have recently received an email or letter through the post with a unique code to link to the survey. This is a unique link for each provider so that ipsos MORI can accurately monitor response rates and can check that quotas for different types of settings are met. Telephone interviews are also being undertaken to maximise the response rate.

If a provider has misplaced their unique code, or have any questions, they can contact the research team at Ipsos MORI by email: WalesSCCCsurvey@ipsos.com or telephone: 0808 238 5376.

Charity Financial Management - Managing Costs and Budgets

Thursday, 14 February, 2019 | 09:30 - 16:00

WCVA, Cardiff

Aims
This training course will enable you to cost the services provided by your organisation, and to produce and monitor budgets and cash flows.
Content
In the current funding climate, unfortunately charities and other voluntary organisations have to compete for income to stay afloat. Anyone who's ever been unsuccessful in a funding application will know that it's more vital than ever to demonstrate cost effectiveness and be realistic in your grant bids.
Funders will want to see evidence that you've taken every cost into consideration and have robust structures in place to organise your budgets so that you are keeping track of every penny.
This training course can help you learn how to cost your services in full and increase the likelihood of gaining enough funding for your organisation.
Learning outcomes
By the end of the course participants will be able to:
·         Define the term "cost".
·         Classify costs into fixed or variable costs and direct or indirect costs.
·         Describe absorption based costing, activity based costing and marginal costing methods for dealing with overheads.
·         Understand the principles of budget preparation.
·         Construct a simple cash flow forecast.

Who this course is for
Staff or trustees with specific involvement in charity financial administration.
