Taking Care of yourself with Spina Bifida and Hydrocpehalus

8 November 2017 – Canolfan Gorseinnon Centre, Swansea, SA4 4QN

An information day for:
· Adults, parents and carers of children and young people with Spina Bifida and Hydrocephalus
· Health Professionals

Through workshops, speakers and demonstrations, it will aim to:
· help better understand continence issues,
· demonstrate treatments and solutions and the importance of good bowel and bladder management
· explain the cognitive effects of Spina Bifida/Hydrocephalus
· explore the importance of mental wellbeing using techniques such as mindfulness

Additionally they will be displaying highlights from the first exhibition of its kind in Europe, Spina Bifida and Hydrocephalus: Their Heritage including; the early history, developments in support and treatment, and changing attitudes towards these complex conditions over the decades.
