Influenza Vaccines

The annual influenza vaccines are currently available. This is a free vaccinations for anyone within the eligible group.

The immunisation coordinator for Powys would very much like an opportunity to attend one of your session/ groups to offer information regarding the influenza vaccination, where she would be able to share up to date information and answer any questions.

The following are the risk group which are eligible for the free vaccinations:

· Aged 65 or over
· Are pregnant
· A carer
· Live in a long-stay residential or nursing home
Or
· or long-term condition such as
· heart, liver or kidney disease
· lung or chest condition
· diabetes poorly functioning spleen or no spleen
· suppressed immune system
· neurological disease including stroke
· have a Body Mass (BMI) of 40 or over.

However,she would not expect all group members to fit the above criteria, but sharing information regarding influenza vaccination would be beneficial and of interest to all.
