Physical Disability and Sensory Loss Engagement Forum
In PDSL previous bulletin they highlighted the work and importance of ‘customer’ feedback and opinion from the Physical Disability and Sensory Loss (PDSL) Forum.
Members of the group have shared their views and experiences on many of the councils services. This feedback has been invaluable in their efforts to improve the services they deliver.
This month’s bulletin looks at how two members of the group, John and Margaret, have been working closely with Natural Resources Wales (NRW) to improve access at Cors y Llyn Nature Reserve.
The reserve is a wetland area that has an abundance of flora and fauna to see, hear, touch and smell. Their feedback to the NRW has been welcomed and the organisation has been active in making alterations to the area to improve customer satisfaction for individuals with a physical or sensory disability.

Meetings to Discuss Stroke Services
Powys teaching Health Board is holding a series of drop-in sessions for members of the public to discuss proposals to change where emergency patients are taken following a stroke.
Changes taking place in Aneurin Bevan Health Board mean that certain emergency stroke services (including CT scans and thrombolysis) will be moving from Nevil Hall hospital in Abergavenny to the Royal Gwent hospital in Newport. The resulting increase in journey time means that it will now be faster for patients to be taken to Prince Charles hospital in Merthyr Tydfil.
