Meetings to Discuss Stroke Services

Powys teaching Health Board is holding a series of drop-in sessions for members of the public to discuss proposals to change where emergency patients are taken following a stroke.

Changes taking place in Aneurin Bevan Health Board mean that certain emergency stroke services (including CT scans and thrombolysis) will be moving from Nevil Hall hospital in Abergavenny to the Royal Gwent hospital in Newport. The resulting increase in journey time means that it will now be faster for patients to be taken to Prince Charles hospital in Merthyr Tydfil.

So that members of the public can discuss this proposed change, drop-in sessions are being held at:

Brecon Hospital, 4 June, 1-3pm
Talgarth Town Hall, 29 June 11am-1pm
Clarence Hall, Crickhowell, 3 July, 11am-2pm
Glan Irfon Centre, Builth Wells, 6 July, 11am-1pm

All members of the public are welcome to join these events, although numbers will be limited on a first-come basis.
