Citizens Advice Chair receives High Sheriff’s Award

Jackie Hankins, current Chair of Citizens Advice Powys, recently received an award from the High Sheriff of Powys, Mike Lewis.
The award was in recognition of great and valuable services to the community. Jackie lives in Ystradgynlais and has been a Citizens Advice Trustee for over 20 years, first joining as a Board member for Ystradgynlais Citizens Advice.
In 2001 Jackie became one of the five initial directors of Powys Citizens Advice, and was instrumental in the development of a unified, quality assured Citizens Advice service covering the whole of Powys which took over service delivery in October 2002 from the existing 5 bureaux “Jackie has worked hard as a Trustee to support Citizens Advice Powys through many changes and challenging times. Her commitment to her role has been outstanding and our staff and volunteers are very grateful to her for the support, guidance and governance provided.” Muriel Ryan, County Manager
