Wales National Exercise Referral Scheme (NERS) - Powys

This is a Wales wide service working in partnership with PHW,WLGA,LHB and local authority and Freedom Leisure, there are a number of NERS services and sessions available across Powys, these include.

NERS – Generic Exercise Referral – For those who are inactive, who may have one or more Chronic condition or completed a NERS L4 service.
NERS – Back Care service (Core stability) – For those with symptoms of low back pain.
NERS – Community Based Cancer Rehabilitation– For cancer survivors.
NERS – Exercise & Weight Management for those with a BMI 35+
NERS – Community Based Cardiac Rehabilitation Phase IV

All NERS services operate to nationally agreed standards, with all exercise professionals trained to meet national guidelines. The protocols used are based on the best practice from across Wales. The British Medical Association in Wales has been consulted on the development of this scheme.

The Scheme runs for 16 consecutive weeks. The activity periods consist of 2 fully supervised group-based sessions each week. The activity sessions are either fitness suit or in the Sports Hall and available at specific times in the day please see enclosed.

The activity sessions cost £2 and the consultations and assessments are free of charge.

So all they ask for, is a commitment to attend 2 activity sessions each week for 16 weeks, 2 fitness assessments & consultations
