Ethical Employment Code of Practice requirements Third Sector

Third Sector Service Provider Forum & Powys Social Value Forum

The Third Sector Service Provider Forum and the Social Value Forum is scheduled for Friday 14th September 2018.

There will be a workshop to explore the question "Is there untapped human resource in Newtown for care and support"? Dylan Owen, Head of Transformation, Powys County Council, will explain the context for this research. The Age Well Partnership has allocated £12k to support the Social Value Forum to lead on this research. Members of the SVF will decide how the funding and research will be carried out. This research has the potential to not only influence the way care and support is provided in Newtown/North Powys, but may also have wider implications. This will be the first collaborative action research of it's kind, using a Social Value Forum, involving voluntary groups and communities as action research partners.

Dr. Sue Hurrell, Value Wales (Welsh Government) will lead a session on Ethical Employment/Modern Slavery and the impact on service providers in the Voluntary Sector in Powys. The Sector is expected to sign up to the new Code of Practice. What does this mean for us in reality? This is also an opportunity to inform Welsh Government regarding the issues and/or impact on the Sector.

Phil Jones, Head of Commissioning (PCC), Carol Phillips, Head of Information Governance (PTHB), will speak about the practical implications of GDPR within contracts with the NHS/PTHB. This will be very useful for current providers of services to PTHB, but also for organisations who are interested in doing future business with PTHB and/or the NHS.

A mid-Powys venue is to be confirmed, depending on numbers. If you haven't yet done so, please click on the link below to register your intention to attend the Forum.
