Study of Optometry-led service - stable or simple glaucoma

Please follow the link below to review the findings from a pilot project which evaluated an optometry-led service for treating people with stable or simple glaucoma. This was a joint project between RNIB and Cwm Taf Health Board.

The study looked at:
- impact on waiting times
- cost
- patient satisfaction

Key results:
- improved waiting times
- almost universal satisfaction amongst patients
- patients having to attend few appointments
- improved capacity in consultant led glaucoma clinics, as well as in the pilot service
