Community Health Council Representative Vacancies

Do you have an interest in your local NHS? Do you want to improve local health services in your area? Do you have a couple of hours free per week?
If you have answered YES to the above questions, then become a Voluntary Member of the Community Health Councils in Wales (CHC)
The CHC represents the independent voice of patients and the public who use the health service in Wales. They play an important role in influencing the way that health services are planned and delivered, to ensure the best possible health and wellbeing outcomes for all people in Wales, now and in the future.
We currently have vacancies for members to represent the voluntary sector on the Community Health Council and we are particularly looking for people with a genuine interest in helping their local community to improve the services from the patients’ and public point of view. You need not be an expert in NHS matters but if you have gained experience working with other people, good communication skills and a professional enthusiastic manner then we want to hear from you.
The role is voluntary (we pay out-of-pocket expenses) and will require attendance at quarterly Full Council meetings, plus monitoring visits but full training will be provided.
If you are interested please contact freda.lacey(at)pavo.org.uk or telephone 01597 822191
Closing date for applications:  24 March 2016  noon
Interviews to take place - 1 April 2016
The Community Health Councils in Wales aim to challenge discrimination and promote equality and diversity. We welcome applications from all sections of the community.
