Volunteering opportunity - Macmillan Cancer Support

Macmillan are piloting a scheme called the Neighbours project across the following areas:
Machynlleth, Rhayader, Knighton, Brecon

Opportunity description:  Could you use your time, enthusiasm and communication skills to support people affected by cancer in your community or workplace? You can do this by being their first point of contact and signposting them to support services or by campaigning for change and representing Macmillan at local events. Help us in this varied role to ensure that people affected by cancer get the support they need to live their lives, no matter what

Looking for in a volunteer:
Passionate about Macmillan and supporting people affected by cancer
Good listening and relationship-building skills
Good IT skills
A desire and ability to represent Macmillan which may include speaking at events
A proactive attitude.

Things volunteer will gain from opportunity:
Meet and work with new people in your community
Use and develop your skills in listening, communication, campaigning, and networking
Enjoy a rewarding and varied experience making a difference to people in your community
Receive an induction, relevant training and agreed out-of-pocket expenses reimbursed
