Aim: To raise awareness and appreciation of carers’ roles and their relationship to statutory services within the Social Services and Wellbeing Act.
Outcomes: By the end of this training session participants will be;
· Aware of their responsibilities to carers
· Understand the complexities of the carer situation
· Be aware of the impact on carers of the caring situation and resulting limitations to individual lives
· Understand the difficulties carers face in getting heard when discussion is around the person they care for
Structure of the training session;
1. Awareness of the Social Services and Wellbeing Act with regard to carers
2. The benefits of outcome conversations
3. Workshop – Carer’s Needs Assessment and Care Assessment with case studies
4. Introduction to the Accessing Public Services Toolkit
5. Carers’ Champions Pack
