Health and Social Care Workforce Strategy

As you will be aware, Social Care Wales and Health Education and Improvement Wales have been working together to develop a Workforce Strategy for Health and Social Care, underpinned by the principles of A Healthier Wales.

You and your colleagues are invited you to take part in a workshop as part of the next phase of engagement and development. A great deal of information was collected as part of the Parliamentary Review and it is the intention of this phase of engagement to build on this and to explore the actions that we need to develop to deliver the future workforce. 

The workshops have been arranged to take place in each of the regions of Wales and the dates and venues of the workshops are as follows:

The workshops are ½ day and will be run twice on the same day with the start times as follows:

  • Morning Workshop: 9.30am until 12.30pm

  • Afternoon Workshop: 2.00pm until 5.00pm

Please arrive at least 15 minutes before the start time

The target audience for the workshops are as follows:

  • Managers at all levels from across health and social care including statutory, voluntary and private service providers including Heads of Service, Service Managers, Workforce Managers, Responsible Individuals, Registered Managers, Human Resource Managers, etc.
  • Regional Partnership Boards
  • Carers networks and citizen panels
  • Education providers from across Higher Education, Further Education and Work Based Learning providers
  • County Voluntary Councils
  • Unions
  • Regional skills networks

If you are unable to attend one of the workshops and would still be interested in being involved in this work, there will be an opportunity to take part in a webinar event on either 12th April 2019 or 16th April 2019.  The webinar will be approximately one hour in duration and will cover the same areas as the workshops and there will be an opportunity for you to provide your input and views.  Further details on how to access these will sent out shortly.

Finally, there will also be on opportunity for you and other interested colleagues to participate in an on-line survey.  The survey will go live from mid-March and again a link to the survey will be shared shortly.
