Preparing for No Deal Brexit


Whilst discussions continue at a national level on the plans and timetable for the UK to leave the European Union, organisations across the UK including the NHS continue to plan for a potential ‘no-deal’ Brexit on 29 March 2019.

Welsh Government aims to provide regular updates for health and care staff and wider stakeholders, and their latest update is attached.

Preparing for ‘no-deal’ Brexit: Arrangements in PTHB
Powys Teaching Health Board is planning for Brexit, including for a potential ‘no-deal’ Brexit. Our planning includes:
·         Working as part of the all-Wales Brexit leadership and planning arrangements established by Welsh Government, including in relation to supply chain management (see https://beta.gov.wales/preparing-wales for more details of the national arrangements)
·         Participating in local planning, testing and reporting arrangements through the Dyfed Powys Local Resilience Forum.
·         Providing information to PTHB employees to enable them to apply for settled status (see https://eucitizensrights.campaign.gov.uk/ for more information about this scheme).
·         Ensuring that internal business continuity plans are in place in accordance with our Business Continuity Policy.
·         Putting in place arrangements to communicate about the impact of ‘no-deal’ Brexit, including a dedicated web page at www.powysthb.wales.nhs.uk/brexit andwww.biapowys.cymru.nhs.uk/brexit-cy
·         Establishing arrangements for daily steady state reporting as part of Local Resilience Forum arrangements.
