Fertility Network UK - Information & Support in Wales

During 2016 Fertility Network UK launched a Wales-specific service, directly providing free and impartial support and information to over 100 men and women in Wales.

As the nation’s leading patient-focused fertility charity they go forward into 2017 continuing to provide up to date information and a listening ear. They are there on a practical and emotional level and understand the widespread impact of infertility; if you feel that anyone you work with and support could benefit from a little extra help at what is an extremely isolating time then please let them know about Fertility Network UK and share this information with your networks.

Peer support groups: There are currently two peer support groups running in South Wales. Both groups welcome anyone affected by a fertility issue, both individuals and couples and offer the chance for people to get together to offer each other much needed support. Often groups are joined by an expert in the field of fertility who answers questions in a non-clinical environment.

· A Swansea group meets at 6.30pm on the first Wednesday of every month at the Canolfan Gorseinon Centre, Millers Drive, Gorseinon, Swansea.
· The Cardiff group meets at 6.30pm on the second Wednesday of every month in Chapter Arts Centre, Cardiff.

For more information about these groups I can be contacted at alice@fertilitynetworkuk.org

Patient information:   If you would like information/leaflets for people to access then let them know and they will arrange delivery.

Individuals can be affected physically, emotionally, socially and financially by infertility. Family, friends, relationships and work can all suffer and feelings of depression, sadness, frustration, anger, helplessness and isolation are all common. It’s really important that those who may benefit from a little extra support learn about this free service available to them.
