Rhayader and District Community Support are committed to improving the quality of life for local people with dementia and mild cognitive impairment.

Lynda their dementia champion is available to deliver dementia friends sessions and is hoping to help make Rhayader a dementia friendly town.

The new Memory Circle meets every fortnight where they share interesting stories and take part in gentle activities. Teddy their memory circle dog is on hand to greet people and is becoming a regular visitor to the group.

Their Good Neighbours scheme is growing to encompass support for people experiencing the early stages of dementia with extra training for volunteers who will visit people in their own home or care home to offer companionship and the opportunity to venture out into the community.
