Digital stories - Glan Irfon

A series of digital stories have been developed to highlight health and social care centre, Glan Irfon.

The film’s aim is to promote the council, health board and voluntary sector’s collaborative and integrated work to improve the health and wellbeing of  citizens to support their independence, and to be able to do the things that matter and have the very best quality of life.

The films have been designed to show local residents in the Builth and Llanwrtyd Wells area along with the Powys health and social care community the benefits of receiving care close to their home and community from the perspective of two patients who have stayed at the centre.

Granville and Kathleen’s story is not unfamiliar to anyone who has had time to recover and recuperate at the centre, and the stories give anyone who is due to visit the centre a real life insight into what it looks and feels like prior to staying.

The stories also provide a professional perspective from the multi-disciplinary team that includes district nurses, social services and BUPA.

The stories can be viewed at http://www.powys.gov.uk/en/adult-social-care/integrating-health-and-social-care/glan-irfon-bringing-health-and-social-care-together/
