Their proposal is to bring together disabled artists, personal support assistants and representatives from support organisations and agencies to explore how welfare cuts are impacting on disabled people in the community. Since the beginning of the austerity measures taken by the coalition government, disabled people have been affected through the ‘bedroom tax’ and reclassification of disability benefits, as well as being unfairly stigmatised in the mainstream press. Celf will use a creative and open-minded process to explore these issues with the people who are directly affected by them.
