Montgomeryshire Friends of Earth call on local people to come together to take action on climate change.

Montgomeryshire Friends of Earth are asking local residents and community group leaders across mid Wales to come together to discuss how local communities and businesses can respond collaboratively to the challenges ahead. Guest speaker Bleddyn Lake from Friends of the Earth Cymru will update on local and national climate change campaigns and what we can do to help.
The meeting will take place on Tuesday 30th April at 7.30pm at The Methodist Hall, Newtown, Powys. We are inviting everyone to come along whether you have a little knowledge or a lot. The most important thing is a desire to act and meet likeminded people in your area. There will be refreshments available, but we ask that attendees bring a donation towards hire costs.
MFOE have been involved in a campaign asking Newtown Town Council to declare a climate emergency. The motion will be presented to full council the evening of April 23rd, a week before. We hope to build on this and join with the council to establish a working group of people to plan for action locally and nationally.
