February Defibrillator Campaign / Ymgyrch Diffibriliwr Chwefror

A patient’s chance of surviving a cardiac arrest (outside hospital) decreases by 10% every minute without intervention. When someone goes into cardiac arrest, early defibrillation is a crucial part of the chain of survival – a series of actions necessary to help someone who has had a cardiac arrest. To raise awareness of what a defibrillator is, where to find them, how easy they are to use and how to purchase one for the community, throughout February the Patient Experience Community Involvement Team will run its annual Twitter #Defibuary campaign encouraging members of the public, staff and volunteers to take a selfie or photo of a defibrillator and send it via Twitter with details of its location and postcode to @WelshAmbPIH using the hashtag #Defibuary. To get involved and help save lives, tweet us your pictures to @WelshAmbPIH using the hashtag #Defibuary.
